With the recent lifting of restrictions on entertainment events, Lion Order’s Star Life, the Caribbean Edition, is currently one of Philadelphia’s most anticipated events.
Set to take place on August 5, Star Life is a four-segment food and liquor inclusive, day-and-night premium event which is set to be headlined by international dancehall star Cham along with Philadelphia’s own M-Gee and Skill Bangs, as well as Antiguan soca artiste LoRider.
Leon Jones, CEO of Lion Order Productions, shared: “I decided to take event planning more seriously when I dropped my last riddim and realised the entertainment space needed more authentic music as well as events.” In an effort to keep in the theme of authenticity, Cham presents as the most fitting headliner for such an event. He rose to fame in the late 1990s claiming international recognition through his 2006 hit single, Ghetto Story. The Grammy-nominated entertainer has since made a global impact with singles like Vitamin S, Babylon Bwoy and This Is Why I’m Hot, a collaboration with Junior Reid and Mimms.
Jones continued: “Cham is definitely a product of reggae and dancehall and he has more than enough hits and stage dominance to make Star Life into another sold-out event. The event has been strategically segmented to please every kind of music lover. We will have the Star Life happy hour, followed by blasts from the past with a ’90s segment just before the live show and after-party.”
Just before the world encountered a lockdown due to the pandemic, Lion Order was able to host the first staging for its premium event with reggae superstar Wayne Wonder as the headline act. With the wave of positive responses that the first staging received, Lion Order Productions is confident that the second staging will be another success.
