USAIN BOLT and his girlfriend Kasi Bennett have revealed that they are expecting their first child.
The eight-time Olympic gold medallist announced the news on his Instagram account with a glamorous photo of his expecting partner.
He captioned the photo: “I just want to say, a King or Queen is about to be here.”
Bennett, 30, also shared the announcement with her Instagram followers.
She described the baby as the pair’s “golden child”, “greatest celebration” and “biggest blessing”.
Neither shared the due date but Bennett said the baby was “coming soon”.
While the couple seemingly pulled out all the stops with their elaborate baby news revelation, they are typically private about their relationship.
According to reports they have been together for five years.
Fans wasted no time in flooding the two parents-to-be’s pages with well wishes.
One wrote: “Oh gosh! Happy for you! Blessings to you and your growing family.”
Another said: “Thought you had been quiet lately, obviously growing a little superstar, congratulations to you both.”
In a 2016 interview with The Guardian ahead of his retirement from sprinting in 2017, Bolt, the only sprinter to win Olympic 100m and 200m titles at three consecutive Games, discussed his desire to become a father.
“I’m nervous, but I’m looking forward to it. NJ [Bolt’s best friend] has a son now, so I really want a son. But kids take up a lot of time, and track and field is different, so I want to be ready, fully ready, when I decide to have kids,” he told The Guardian.
Explaining his lack of children at the time, Bolt, then aged 30, said: “I wasn’t going to just randomly have kids with anybody, because my dad had that problem. I don’t want to have that problem.”
